Biography
She's full of spunk.
She's got talent to spare.
And her SOUND-sational voice has been impressing audiences ever since her first
public appearance at the age of nine.
Born in Andalusia, Alabama, and raised in Grand Bay...near Mobile...Tanya believes that becoming a singer was not really her choice."I think, instead, music chose me," she says laughingly. "I just grew up singing. It was something our family always did and I never really gave much thought to it. But i've certainly never had an interest in doing anything else."
I honestly don't remember any time in my life without music," she continues, "and I definitely credit my uncle Pat for being a big musical influence on me. I used to sit on his front porch with other family members--watching them play traditional favorites that we all just loved. It's where I really first learned about the process of making music."
Before long, Tanya began entering contests as a singer...competing on both local and state levels...while almost always walking away as a winner!
She would soon be on her way to becoming one of the area's most popular performers. At first, she began working as a karaoke singer. Then, she started her own business as a mobile entertainer--doing DJ shows, running sound, and singing--while working in casinos and clubs all the way from Florida to Mississippi, as well as doing extended engagements at a local country club in Mobile.
For the Past five years, Tanya has been performing as lead female vocalist for several different bands, including a Florida group called the Saw Mill Band, an Alabama band known as Flashback, and she is now being featured with the Last Light Band in the NASCAR Circuit. In addition, she owns and operates her own booking company, Spotlight entertainment. She is an Alabama favorite in the advertising world and recently appeared on national Tv& Radio commercials for Mary B's Biscuits, and she is personally very devoted to helping aid children who have special needs.
On top of that, this ambitious mother of two finds time to write songs! Her catalogue is still small, and although she hasn't yet had any of her tunes recorded by major artists, she certainly seems to be headed in the right direction.
As an opening act, Tanya has fronted shows for such stars as Montgomery Gentry, Dierks Bentley, Terri Clark, Mark Wills, Travis Tritt, and Darryl Worley, just to mention a few.
Aside from music, Tanya Madison likes to fish, ride horses, cook, work in the yard, spending time with her family, and decorating. And, oh yes... SHE LOVES TO SHOP!!!
However, the real glue that holds her life together...and the passion that kindles a constant flame in her heart... will always be her love for music. It's the one thing that makes her world go-round. She says, "Anytime I can touch one person with my music, then I feel like I am living my dream and fulfilling my purpose, and that makes me successful."
